Results of SENCER-ISE Literature Search

In cooperation with the Marian Koshland Science Museum at the National Academy of Sciences, we undertook a literature search of peer-reviewed articles to gain more knowledge about research on collaborations and other relevant educational questions. The literature search was conducted with the assistance of Steven Del Corso, a Rutgers postgraduate, and supplemented by Dara Wilson, SENCER-ISE Program Assistant, resulting in over 20 peer-reviewed articles. Below are the summaries written by Mr. Del Corso. The articles are grouped into four different areas reflecting general themes: informal science learning and its impact on student learning; educational development and partnerships for teacher training and professional development; challenges and outcomes in educational cross-sector collaborations; and perspectives on civic engagement, community outreach, and social justice.
